Nominations and Awards Committee

Solicit candidates for Board election. Solicit nominees for awards and shepherd processes. Recruit volunteers for committees.

Development Committee

Implement and manage fundraising efforts and outreach for support. Research grant opportunities, sponsorships, and other organizations.

Membership Committee

Promote new membership of individuals and organizations. Communicate with existing membership.

Program Committee

Plan conferences, strands, online, events, and other program activities. Coordinate with other organizations about their DS-related activities.

Policy and Publications Committee

Develop scholarly publications and seek to encourage the development of scholarly research of concern to people with disabilities. Serve as Board liaison to the editors of our journal Disability Studies Quarterly. Inform the Board of relevant public issues relevant to people with disabilities that may require action on behalf of the Society, and assist in drafting statements supporting actions that promote the interests of disability advocacy and policy.
