1) You must be in the SDS Database in order to register for the Conference. Members are already included. You can join SDS or renew your Membership on the Membership page. URL of the Membership Form:

Great news! Our friends at OSU have secured a discount room block with the Hilton Garden Inn, which offers a free shuttle (not wheelchair accessible) to OSU.

From the University area to hotels such as the Hilton Garden Inn, the walk is 1-1.8 miles, and a city bus line (COTA) runs nearby.

Conference Venues:

The Saturday-Sunday SDS sessions will be held on OSU campus in Denney Hall, which is a 10 to 15-minute walk from the Blackwell Inn (address: 164 Annie & John Glenn Ave, Columbus OH 43210).

The Blackwell Inn and Pfahl Conference Center on OSU campus will host the weekend evening events and the Monday-Tuesday sessions.

Please remember to use no scented products.

The registration form asks about participants’ specific access and accommodations needs. Please provide this information as soon as possible for our planning purposes.

We will have CART captioning at all SDS sessions on Saturday and Sunday

See the SDS website for guidelines on giving accessible presentations. Presenters should plan to submit documents for captioners’ and interpreters’ preparation a week in advance. Upload you materials using this Google form or email to

We also ask you to bring hard copies if you are able to share with up to 15 people, including some large print (font 17pt or more).

Presentation rooms are equipped with built-in computers and projectors. We encourage groups to bring a laptop for backup or to load all presentations on one device ahead of time (Mac users will need adaptors). If you are downloading / streaming, keep in mind there is Wi-Fi but no guarantee it always works. There is a podium with the computer. Tables and chairs will be set up for presenters at the front.

Organizers of performances and workshop activities should make a note about logistics on the registration form.

SDS members who will attend (including presenters) on Monday 6th and Tuesday 7th must be sure to register as well for the Multiple Perspectives Conference. There is no additional fee. But the organizers require registration so that they can plan for accessibility and food. We suggest you stay for Mon & Tues!

Lunch will be provided on all days for those who register in advance. You’ll be asked on the registration form to indicate your plans.
