JOIN SDS or RENEW your Membership now, in order to receive member benefits through December 2020!
Please use the SDS Membership Form.
Our membership database system (Wild Apricot) tracks Memberships by email address. To Renew, please login first with the same email you used to join, go to your profile, and find the "RENEW" BUTTON. While there, please update your Profile. You can alternatively create a new Profile if you use the “JOIN” button with a new email address.
If you are changing your Membership Level, such as student to professional, please contact us. Wild Apricot wants its parents to do that manually. We are trying to teach it that it can do that independently, but it keeps talking about interdependence! You can be interdependent with Devva and just drop me a note and I will get Wild Apricot to understand. Contact SDSKasnitz [at] gmail [dot] com.
Please read and share this message from the SDS Board and Executive Office with information about upcoming SDS programming and Membership categories, benefits, and special offers.
After you have reviewed the details about 2020 SDS Membership categories and dues, please fill out a Membership Form. The Form will automatically take you to a payment portal in our membership system.
We have several Membership options for you to consider. Individuals have multiple levels to choose from, all of which receive the full benefits of membership. There are also various options for Organizations with small, mid-sized, and larger budgets. You may customize a bundle of Professional and/or Student Memberships under one organizational name and dues. Benefits include formal acknowledgments and opportunities to promote your program. Encourage your group to join SDS in order to support your constituents and the work of SDS!
The SDS Giving Campaign also invites Members and Supporters to consider a year-end, tax-deductible donation or pledge to donate in any amount to our General Fund, Disability Studies Quarterly (DSQ) Fund, Accommodations Fund, and Membership Subsidy Fund.
Contribute or join/renew your membership by December 26, 2019, to make sure that we can match your gift and dues with the challenge donation of $10,000 from a generous sponsor! Donation pledges can be made directly via the SDS payment portal. We’re grateful for your contributions, which can also be made by check or the SDS website.
Thank you for participating in and supporting SDS!

Support SDS by Dec 26 – double your impact when you renew, join, or donate
Dear SDS community and allies,
A generous sponsor has agreed to match every dollar you give or pledge to give to the Society for Disability Studies up to $10,000 – from today until December 26, 2019!
This is a wonderful opportunity to renew your SDS membership for 2020, become a new or returning member, or make a donation or pledge now.
Please visit the SDS website for full information about membership benefits and the 2020 dues structure for individuals and organizations.
- You may customize an Organizational Membership that supports your students, junior colleagues, and constituents. We encourage those of you who have the good fortune to work or study at an institution that pays your membership to consider this option. It comes with formal acknowledgments and opportunities to promote your program.
- Lifetime Memberships are another impactful way to advance the work of SDS. Consider becoming a lifetime member now at the 2019 dues level.
We also hope you’ll consider making a tax-deductible donation beyond your annual dues payment. Contribute today to make sure that we can match your gift. Donation pledges can be made directly via the SDS payment portal: https://societyfordisabilitystudies.wildapricot.org/Donate/.
Your donations and dues support SDS’s journal Disability Studies Quarterly, make possible a growing range of SDS programs and conference strands, and promote student engagement in the field of disability studies including the Irving K. Zola Emerging Scholar Award and our participation in the SDS@OSU Multiple Perspectives conference in April 2020.
Share this news with your networks—encourage your colleagues, students, friends, and organizations to join and give to the Society for Disability Studies before the match runs out!
Thank you for all you do.
Joanne Woiak, SDS President
